What is Florida SHOTS?

Florida SHOTS (State Health Online Tracking System) is a free, statewide, centralized online immunization registry that helps health-care providers, schools, and parents keep track of immunization records. This helps ensure that children receive all vaccinations needed to protect them from dangerous vaccine-preventable diseases such as measles, mumps, diphtheria, polio, varicella, and others.

Families move or change health-care providers every day. Florida SHOTS helps ensure that the required immunization records for child-care and school attendance are easy to locate no matter where children go within Florida. And in case of disaster (like Hurricane Katrina), those records remain protected and available.

Additionally, Florida SHOTS helps interpret complex immunization schedules, generates official immunization records for registered patients, helps manage vaccine inventories, and generates reminders and recalls.

The registry is authorized by Section 381.003, F.S. It is a program of the Florida Department of Health Bureau of Immunization.

Florida SHOTS is endorsed by the Florida Pediatric Society, the Florida Medical Association, and the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association.
